I still remember my first SLC—it was an experience that completely changed my perspective. Going in, I didn’t know what to expect, but I quickly realized just how incredible it was to be surrounded by so many driven and talented individuals. The energy, the competition, and the opportunity to showcase my skills pushed me to work harder than ever. That year, I competed in Presentation Management Team, and to my surprise, my team placed 3rd in the state. It was a defining moment that showed me what I was capable of. I also took on the Device Configuration & Troubleshooting event and placed 5th in the state, proving to myself that my skills and dedication were paying off. That first SLC not only gave me confidence but also inspired me to keep pushing forward, and now, I want to help other BPA members experience that same motivation and success. 

Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to compete at the national level in SkillsUSA IT Services, where I placed 13th in the nation. That experience reinforced my competitive spirit and my drive to continuously improve. I thrive in environments where I can push myself to be better, and that’s exactly what BPA fosters—a culture of ambition, leadership, and excellence. Just like in SkillsUSA, BPA competitions challenge us to refine our skills, think critically, and step outside our comfort zones. Whether it’s IT, business, or leadership, BPA gives students the chance to prove themselves on a larger stage, just like I did. My experiences in competition have taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of striving for excellence, and I want to bring that same passion and drive to the role of State Officer, ensuring that every BPA member has the chance to grow and succeed.
